I made this smoothie for the kids the other day and wanted to quickly share it with you.
It is made with delicious mango and banana but you can substitute them for whatever other fruit you have on hand.
It is also made with my homemade crock-pot yogurt (I will have a post about that soon), but you can use regular plain yogurt from the store if you don’t have homemade.
Lastly, I added flax seeds, chia seeds, and hemp seeds, to make it super healthy and filling. The kids didn’t ask for anything else to eat for a whole two hours after drinking this. It’s unheard of, really!
I started with two mangos in the blender, probably more like one and a half since little hands kept sneaking around me to grab the mango pieces.
To the mangos, add one big banana or a couple smaller ones…
Next, add half a cup of plain yogurt…
I also added a tablespoon of Agave. This is completely optional, most of the time the fruit is sweet enough for me but sometimes I add it when I make smoothies for the kids.
Lastly, I added a few cubes of ice to the blender.
Let all this blend together for a minute, and it’s ready.
We like our smoothies thick, but if it’s too thick for you just add a little bit of water. You can also pour this into popsicle molds and freeze it. It makes delicious, healthy pops.
It’s a great healthy drink to start the day with, it can be a whole breakfast really, but we usually drink smoothies in the afternoon as a snack.
