Wash your jars well with hot water and dish soap...

WASH YOUR JARS...

SANITIZE YOUR JARS...

by boiling them for ten minutes or by placing them in a 320 degrees F oven for 10-15 minutes. **This step is optional. 

NEXT...

FILL THE JARS

Make sure that your milk is at room temperature or a little warmer. Fill the jars, leaving one inch headspace...

CLEAN THE RIM OF THE JAR...

Use a clean and damp paper towel to clean the rim of the jar before you close it...

CENTER THE LID...

Center the clean lid and close the jar with the ring.

ADD JARS TO PRESSURE CANNER...

Add two inches of water to your pressure canner. Bring the water to a simmer. Place your jars on the rack in the canner.

PROCESS IN THE PRESSURE CANNER...

Turn heat to high. Let the canner steam for ten minutes. Place weight on the vent and bring to 11 psi. Then turn heat off immediately.

LET THE CANNER COOL...

Turn the heat off. It will take a few hours until it cools completely. Open the canner and let the jars stay in the hot water for ten minutes.

REMOVE JARS FROM CANNER...

Remove the jars from the canner and let them cool overnight before storing them.
